I soldered wires to the three pins on the USB plug first and then soldered the 3 different sets of wires to the leads. Solder the bare wires together. There were some users that were seeing the keypad lock on the SDS100 actually functioning through the Sentinel software in the early versions. I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). If you have a smartphone or other USB device charger you can use it if you don’t want to use the charger that came with the radio.
