The still thumbnails are stored with the project, in the project database. The full res stills are stored separately in the Still path, as defined by the first path in Preferences - System - Media Storage, or manually in a project in the Project Settings - Master Settings - Working Folders area.. I'm new to Davinci Resolve v17. I've noticed some of my clips are greyed out in the timeline I created, but still seem to active and playing (see photo -- Video 5 track on timeline), while other clips are highlighted. Clips with speed changes will not decompose (menu item greyed out). What that's basically done, is made a LUT internally in DaVinci Resolve, which you can then add to other things. There is no support for FireWire or similar camera connections. You will need to perform capture of the material outside of Resolve in this case. When I set the In/Out points from the timeline, the Mark, Create Subclip option is no longer grayed out, but when I select "Create Subclip" no subclip is created in the Media Pool area of the Edit Page.
